That is, even white LGB people report a higher degree of preference for same-race partners than non-white LGB people.

In another post, I mentioned a survey of young adults’ relationship values, which found that lesbian, gay, and bisexual people were more open to dating people of different races and ethnicities than were heterosexuals.

A recent study of profiles submitted to the online dating website showed, for example, that whites are more open to dating Hispanics and Asians than blacks are.

And younger clients are more willing to date outside their race than older clients. A recent report from the Pew Research Center found that one in seven new marriages in 2008 was either interracial or between a Hispanic and a non-Hispanic—unions encompassed by the term "intermarriages." This is double the percentage of intermarriages in 1980, but still relatively low.

In early October, OKCupid, an online dating website, released an analysis of racial and ethnic differences in response rates. The OKCupid study assessed the responses of over one million site users.

They found that two individuals of any race can be compatible just to squash any doubts that the racial and ethnic differences found in responses is due to lack of compatibility between partners of different backgrounds.

When I was going to university I found it much easier to find women that were open to dating races other than their own.

  1. You still need to solve "context" (how to handle follow-up questions such as "why? (and pardon me to say, the question doesn't suggest that you have such an extensive insight into the matter [and you're not alone, count me in ;-)]) Even, and maybe in particular, if your intention is to apply completely novel techniques and models, it seems important to review the literature on current and past practices.
